I was so busy late last week with Nora’s birthday, work, and prep for Nora’s party that I didn’t even have a chance to share with all of you a guest post I wrote for Julia over at My Life in Transition as part of her “Moms Make It Work” series.https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3911/14481562494_c527118420_m.jpg

Truthfully, I wrote this post a few months back, so if you’re a regular reader, you might notice that a few things are out of date—mainly all of our ages (we’ve had a bunch of birthdays since then), and the photos! But in the post, I discuss a bit about my background, career, and how I handle being a working mom. The biggest factor for making it work? Michael, of course. The post is about more than that, though. :)

Anyway, hop on over there to check it out if you haven’t seen it yet. And check out other posts in the series as well. It’s fun to read all about moms and their life situations, and how we all “make it work.”

Care to share some of your go-to meals? This is a struggle for us!

    • Hi Sara! Some of our go-to meals are: slow-cooked Mexican chicken (in my recipe index), pasta (sometimes with jarred sauce, or sometimes we’ll throw our “own” sauce in the crockpot with some frozen meatballs to let it “simmer” all day), tacos, fajitas, pesto, loaded baked potatoes/sweet potatoes, stir fry, chili, homemade sloppy joes, chicken and summer vegetable tostadas (in my recipe index), Mexican quinoa (I don’t think it’s in the index, but if you search the blog for it, it should come up), lemon poppyseed chicken with peas and couscous (in recipe index), sandwiches, frozen pizza, homemade turkey burgers, bean burritos (in recipe index), Asian lettuce wraps (in recipe index). Lots of stuff! Listing it all out right here, I don’t really understand why we ever have challenges meal planning. :)

    Thanks! I’ll look those up!

Thanks for writing this, Heather! It’s comforting to know that someone else goes through the same things, thoughts, and feelings I do as a full-time working mom of a young child. You hit the nail on the head!
