Fireworks
Happy 4th of July!
Last night, we went to a local fireworks show (yes, it was a day early). Of course, I just had to bring my camera and play with slow shutter speeds! These are a few of my favorites. I hope you’re all enjoying your long weekends.
Happy Birthday, America!

I'm Heather. I'm 33 and have been married to Michael for seven years. Together, we have two beautiful little girls we love more than anything, and a miniature dachshund who drives us crazy. I'm a full-time working mom who has very little time for my own "stuff" these days, like home improvement, cooking/baking, cake decorating, and photography. Despite the team not making the playoffs since 1999, I'm STILL a Buffalo Bills fan, which I think speaks to my loyalty AND sense of humor. I can't wait to pick up the pace with travel again some day... you know, when we're done being ruled by tiny fists. Welcome to my blog. The Address

nice job! i’m assuming you used a tripod?
Sara–Not sure why comments aren’t showing up right now, but hopefully Blogger will fix the issue soon.
Anyway, no, I did not use a tripod. I didn’t think about bringing it since I didn’t want to lug it from the car into the field. I usually have a pretty steady hand, and if I’m tripod-less and need to use long shutter speeds, I’ll often brace my elbows against something for extra support–in this case, the arms of my lawn chair. Given another situation, though, I’d probably try out the tripod. :)
Beautiful photos! I was sad we didn’t do any firewors viewing this 4th…I really wanted to try out my new camera!
Love the pics! C
