Our nephew, Brendan, is 1 year old today. We’ll be making the drive to visit him for his birthday party this weekend.
I am making him his birthday cake(s). One for all of his guests to enjoy, the other for him to enjoy all on his own. I love watching a 1-year-old kid have the freedom to dig in and enjoy cake for the first time. He’ll likely need a bath immediately following. :)
We have pretty vivid memories of his birth last year. It’s weird to think that so much time has passed already. He has grown entirely too big, entirely too fast. But that’s just the way it goes, right?

I'm Heather. I'm 33 and have been married to Michael for seven years. Together, we have two beautiful little girls we love more than anything, and a miniature dachshund who drives us crazy.
