I hope that everyone had a very merry holiday (to those who celebrate, anyway).

Things have been crazy for us. The week leading up to the holiday was a whirlwind. It was hectic at work, and hectic at home. The actual holiday itself was exhausting, so we have been laying low since then, trying to recover! My dad is up visiting as well, so I’ve been spending a lot less time on the computer.

This morning, our furnace broke. It is 27 degrees out and we have 1.5 feet of snow on the ground, so it’s GREAT timing (note my sarcasm). My brother is HVAC certified so he’s coming over to take a look at things. Hopefully it’s a cheap/easy fix so it doesn’t get too cold in here, eeek!

And then I logged onto WordPress to try to put up a simple photo of our Christmas card and discovered that I was automatically upgraded to version 3.5, and THINGS ARE BROKEN. I am having a lot of trouble posting, and in an effort to fix the problems, I’ve had to break other things. So as you may notice, things aren’t looking so hot around here right now. JUST WHAT I WANTED TO BE DOING TODAY. Ugh. Hopefully web developer hubby can come to the rescue sometime over the next few days. Until then, excuse me if things don’t look too pretty. Bear with me, eh?

Furnace problems are such a pain. We had to replace ours in the spring (which we were planning on doing in the summer) because our new roof leaked INTO our furnace. Yeah that was fun. The joys of being a homeowner!! At least your brother is HVAC certified!

Our furnace broke late on Christmas Eve. It was -30 out. On a holiday. And over a 24 wait for a technician. Brrr…..

what are you using to host your blog now? I am toying with the notion of WordPress, but I feel like I would just pay someone (i.e. the blog butler) to handle this crap for me, because let’s be honest, I don’t really have time for these things (do any of us?!) And the idea of paying for something irks me. But I like the plug ins that are available on WP better…

Hi Heather. I wanted to let you know that whenever I am get on to read your blog it takes me to Sept when your brother came home. I have to click around then after about 2 minutes it directs me to your current blog. Just thought you would like to know.

    • Hi Rachel, can you please provide more detail as to how you are accessing my blog? Are you clicking through from somewhere, are you entering a URL directly (and if so, what are you entering)?

It sounds like you are somehow going to http://heatherdrive.blogspot.com, which IS still there, and WILL redirect to you here, but it does take a while because it has to fully load and process the redirect script in order to do so. The reason it takes you back to September is because that is the last post I wrote on Blogger before I switched to WordPress.

Let me know how it is you are accessing the blog and I may be able to help. But if you have a bookmark, you’re going to want to change the URL to http://www.heatherdriveblog.com (instead of heatherdrive.blogspot.com) and that’ll solve the problem.
